Lúnasa in A Winter Solstice, A Holiday concert from Ireland

Friday, December 12, 2025 - 7:00 PM EST

Named for an ancient Celtic harvest festival in honor of the Irish god Lugh, Lúnasa was formed in 1997 from members of some of the greatest Irish groups of the previous decade, an early review from Folk Roots magazine describing the band as an “Irish music dream team”. From the start, the band’s complex arrangements and unique sound reshaped the boundaries of traditional music and energized audiences the world over. Critical acclaim followed, MOJO magazine named the band “the new gods of Irish music,” adding that “nobody since the Bothies has wielded such a thrilling rhythmic underlay.” Billboard raved that “anybody who listens can’t help but find them contagious.”

Having since sold over a quarter of a million records and performed over 2,500 shows across 36 countries, Lunasa has won multiple awards and become one of the most influential bands in the history of traditional Celtic music. Collaborations with singers Natalie Merchant, Mary-Chapin Carpenter, and Tim O’Brien and high-profile concerts at The Hollywood Bowl, New York’s Carnegie Hall, helped broaden the band’s audience and secure its place at the forefront of contemporary Irish music.

Amazing Double Bill from Quebec City, Canada: Christine Tassan et les Imposteures & Cécilia

Sunday, February 1, 2026 - 4:00 PM EST

Christine Tassan et les Imposteures (Gypsy/Jazz, Parisien)

For more than twenty years, the group has been working in the mystical world of gypsy jazz as first composed by Django Reinhardt; Christine Tassan and the Imposteures have won the esteem and loyalty of an ever-growing audience. True pioneers in a field usually reserved for men, and precursors of the gypsy jazz wave that swept through Quebec, these four musicians reinvent with their well-known singularity a music that, far from being frozen in time, adapts to all sorts of new ideas. From covers to compositions, the Imposteures’ arrangements innovate, dust off, and give way to the unbridled creativity of four seasoned musicians.

The band’s reputation is well established, with 7 albums to its name and more than 700 shows in venues and festivals, including multiple tours in Quebec, Canada, Europe, the United States and China. Christine Tassan et les Imposteures have been seen at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine (France) and in Liberchies (Belgium). The album “Entre Félix et Django” received the Opus Award for Jazz Album of the Year in 2017 and was nominated in the Show of the Year category in 2018.

Cecilia (Quebecois)

Traditional music that causes a wonderful stir and fills to overflowing every venue – that is Cécilia! Widely recognized as three of Canada’s finest musicians, it is a pleasure to see how much enjoyment Timi Turmel, Erin Leahy, and Louis Schryer find in playing together. While honoring their heritage as Cécilia, their music making has an undeniably fresh and high-spirited sound.

They bring the best of many musical worlds together in their explorations of traditional, Celtic and Quebecois music. Every one of their pieces is skillfully arranged and highlighted with influences from contemporary, classical, jazz and swing styles. Cécilia’s recent debut album Accent is an impressive offering full of vibrant rhythms and melodies, all resonating with a unique warmth and richness of expression.

Each performance by Cécilia is a call to come out and share – not only in the joy of three dedicated musicians making music together but also in creating a unique and unforgettable musical experience. You’ll find yourself with a smile that lasts long after the final notes of Cécilia’s accordion, piano, and violin have melted away.
